Sustainability

All of us who love to run in nature also understand that we have to be careful about it. We also want to protect sustainable year-round resorts and employees. As part of this work, we have joined Hållbarhetsklivet, the visitor organization West Sweden's initiative, and their principles.

AS LITTLE UNNECESSARY ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AS POSSIBLE

A large part of the impact on the environment in connection with a race is the transport there. We mainly market the race to a Swedish and Norwegian target group. As a participant, you can travel collectively by train and local bus to event center Tanum Strand, where you collect the number tag and go to the finish line. From here the buses also go to the start and after run, food and accommodation are offered here.

When we work with the arrangement, we think about and plan our transport to drive as little as possible and avoid unnecessary journeys.

The date for the race is chosen in consultation with the Västra Götaland County Administrative Board to minimize disturbance to wildlife.

In close cooperation with the Västra Götaland County Administrative Board, we follow up on any impact on nature along the course, if necessary, spans are placed over vulnerable places. Shoes with metal studs are not allowed to be used in the race.

We mainly use track markings that we can reuse, such as flags and signs.

At the energy stations, the participant sorts their rubbish into containers intended for this purpose. It is absolutely forbidden to litter along the track, it leads to disqualification.

We encourage you as a runner to bring your own bib to use at the energy stations. If not, the mugs you use go to recycling. The mugs are approved according to the latest EU legislation.

After the completed race, we go through the course an extra time and make sure that there is no trash left, then we also pick up what is not related to the race. Some cleaning also takes place before, we want the runners to be greeted by a clean and pleasant environment.

Your fine medal is designed and manufactured in Sweden from Swedish wood.

The winning vests awarded to the trail tour winners are reused as much as possible.

GOOD FOR BOTH RESIDENTS AND VISITORS

Through our collaboration with local sports associations, we generate important income for children's and youth sports in the locality.

We make our purchases locally as much as possible.

We have moved Bohuslän's Best to a time of year when it is not high season. It contributes to an even occupancy of the accommodation facilities.
Our hope is that more people will discover what Bohuslän has to offer off season.

Bohuslän's Best is arranged in close collaboration with Hotel Tanum Strand. The race's energy stations are located at Saltvik's campsite and Evert's boathouse, in our communication we tell you about the respective activities that are carried out there.

Once you are in Grebbestad, we encourage you to stay an extra day and discover what else the area has to offer. In our channels you will find tips on activities and places to visit.

We also hope that the event will be a pleasant event for residents of the resort. Both that many want to run themselves or go out and cheer on all the runners who come by.
